We know how personal this work is. You’re trusting us with some of the details of your inner world, so it’s only fair we’re clear about how we treat that information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
The short version: your data is not a product. We will never sell it.
1. Who we are
HUMAN is operated by human.store. References to “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy refer to HUMAN. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at support@human.store.
2. What we collect
When you create a HUMAN account, we collect only what we need to set up and run your account:
- Your name
- Your email address
- A password (stored securely and never readable by us)
If you choose to complete your optional profile, you may also share:
- Age band
- General location (country or region)
- Current life stage
- Topics that feel relevant to you right now
- How far through HUMAN you are
- Whether you are part of the Founding 500
- Whether you would be open to sharing your story anonymously in future
- Whether you would like to hear about future HUMAN experiments, tools and beta projects
All optional profile fields are exactly that — optional. You get full access to your HUMAN tools whether you fill them in or not.
3. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Give you access to your HUMAN member area and tools, including the Signals Alignment Check-In
- Send you the Starter Pack and any other resources you have requested
- Send you relevant updates about the book, tools, and HUMAN projects (only if you have opted in)
- Understand who is here so we can shape future content, Q&As and tools that fit real lives — not a generic audience
We think about your data like we think about biology: the point is not to watch you more closely, it is to give you better language and tools for what you are already living through. If we ever ask new questions, it will be because we believe the answers can help us support you better — and those questions will always be optional.
4. Who sees your data
Your data stays inside HUMAN and the trusted third-party services we use to operate the website and email system (such as our hosting provider and email platform). These services are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to third parties so they can market to you.
5. How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored securely on our web hosting infrastructure, currently provided by Cloudways. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in a readable format. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data promptly. We may retain anonymised, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) for longer, to help us understand how HUMAN is being used.
7. Your rights and choices
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Opt out of non-essential emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
- Update or delete the optional profile information you have provided in your account settings
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your account and all associated personal data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@human.store. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and make the member area work correctly. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks. If we introduce any additional cookies in future, we will update this policy and notify you.
9. Children
HUMAN is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us at support@human.store and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make any meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in your account. The date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was last updated.
